Irish Patchwork Society

This is a national group of patchworkers and quilters made up of eight Branches around the country. It aims to support its members with various education initiatives and opportunities to exhibit both at home in Ireland and across Europe.

 

Southern Branch of the Irish Patchwork Society

My local Branch of the IPS is a fantastic one to visit and be a part of. It's a large group with over seventy members. It's active, friendly and loves to greet new members and vistors! Meetings are held in the Sacred Heart Church Hall on the Western Road, usually on the second Saturday of the month September to June - do check the website.

 

Cork Textiles Network

Established in 1998 this group aims to support textile artists of all kinds and meets regularly for skills shares and workshops. It holds a variety of exhibitions for members each year, some open to all members and some juried.

 

Quliter's Guild of Ireland

The Quilter's Guild of Ireland is a non-profit group whose aim is to help members to share ideas and foster education about patchwork and quilting.

There are no monthly meetings, but there resources and group lists are available on the website and in addition each Spring it hosts a retreat with a range of classes and teachers.

 

European Quilt Association

The European Quilt Association (EQA) was founded in 1989. Its member countries work to promote patchwork and quilting in Europe. It hosts a number of challenges and exhibition each year.
