Class and Workshop Programme


What to Expect

When you book any class I will send you the class information, 'Bring List' and request for payment. Payment is by bank transfer or cheque. Payment by Paypal can be arranged if prefered.

For online classes, Bring Lists and information are emailed on booking and pdf's of the class instructions are emailed the day before class, for you to print out at home. Hard copies can be posted out at extra cost.

Invitations, to the Zoom session are usually emailed to students the day before class.

Being an online teaching situation a good internet connection is essential.
In a Zoom class I use a range of visualisers to demonstrate techniques and show you samples.                                                                                                        

For in-person classes, Bring Lists, directions to my studio etc. are issued on booking. Printed instructions are available in class. 

Some basics such as needles, thread, wadding and calico are available to purchase in my studio, you should bring all other requirements with you.

Please arrive in good time to be set up and ready before the class begins. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be freely available for you to help yourselves, but the only scheduled break will be a half hour for lunch - please see individual classes for more information.

Feathering the Nest    

- 5 Week Class Series on Zoom

Thursday Mornings 5th May - 2nd June

One full morning (10am-1pm) per week for 5 weeks

In this Class Series we will look at all kinds of free hand feathers : heirloom feathers, continuous feathers, fancy feathers, as an individual feature, in irregular shapes and in borders.

No need to be afraid of feathers - this class is designed for all students wishing to expand their free motion quilting skills. We will not be using rulers and I'll show you how to get fabulous results, free handing feathers using simple shapes, registration lines and your quilt!

Suitable for students with some experience of free motion quilting.

Easy Machine Trapunto -

One Day Zoom Workshop

Trapunto is the art of stuffing areas of a quilt with extra wadding to produce raised designs for fancy effect and is traditionally done by hand. In this Full Day Workshop we will learn how to achieve fantastic results to raise your quilts to the next level, using your trusty sewing machine. We will create a small sample piece in the class.

Suitable for students with some experience of free motion quilting.

The Language of Flowers - 
One Day Zoom Workshop

Wednesday 16th February 

A Full Day Free Motion Quilting Workshop to show you how to create a delightful silk mini quilt. Let me show you how! Finished quilt approximately 10"x10"

We will learn a 'vocabulary' of simple shapes and techniques to help you create an endless variety of free motion flowers. These skills are not only suitable for your small works of art but are transferable to larger scale quilting too. I'll also show you how to finish the little quilt with a faced backing and a faux binding.

This workshop is perfect for those wishing to improve their free motion skills and also gives scope for students to challenge themselves. Suitable for students with some experience of free motion quilting.

Cost €95, inclusive of a complete kit for one mini quilt, printed notes and P&P

(kit comprises one piece of silk, one piece of wool wadding, one piece of cotton wadding, one piece of calico, one piece of backing fabric, one small spool 40wt rayon or polyester thread)

Tracy's Row by Row Block of the Month

Runs October 2021 to June 2022.
Structure:  At the beginning of each month the Patterns and Instructions for that month's Row will hit your Inbox and at the end of each month we will have a live chat.

Pattern and Video Instruction: Each month you will receive notes, pattern, templates and intructions for a block to form a for plus a variation.  You will also receive a link to a video, whcick will take you through the process of making each block.

Live Chat: At the end of each month, we will have a scheduled Zoom meeting for an hour or so, for a Q&A and a show and tell of that month's blocks.

Prize Draw! A prize draw will be held in the final Zoom session at the end of June for some lovely spools of thread from my stock.

Cost: €12.50/month when paying monthly or €100 for the whole nine months when paying up front.  Payment is by Bank Transfer, Cheque or cash, if you live close enough!  Payment by PayPal can be arranged if preferred.

Start Date: Monday 4th October 2021.  Late starters welcome!


'Sewing For Christmas' - Berry and Bright Table Topper

Saturday 20th November 2021, 10am - 4.30pm
A full day workshop over Zoom. There will be a break of 45 minutes for lunch.

Spend a day practising your curved piecing skills on this gorgeous Holly Block, based on Drunkard's Path variations. Make four to create a fabulous festive table topper. Co-ordinate the fabrics for a festive look or make it scrappy to really show off the curved piecing.

The block finishes at 16" square and the table topper at 32" square. Fully illustrated instructions and templates will be provided for you to print off at home and I will take you step by step through the process of making this stunning block, with lots of tips to help you get great results.

Excellent for confident sewists, who want to expand their skill set, this workshop is not suitablefor beginners.

'Sewing For Christmas' Foundation Paper Pieced Christmas Tree Ornaments

Sunday 21st November 2021, 2-5pm

Join me for an afternoon in my digital classroom to make some super-cute Christmas Tree Ornaments using the technique of Foundation Paper Piecing.

Fully illustrated instructions with templates for three designs will be provided for you to print off at home and there will be plenty of instruction and demonstrations on the day with lots of tips to help you to get to grips with the technique and achieve great results. A festive introduction to FPP.

The ornaments all finish at 3" square and include a little pocket on the reverse for a festive treat.

Suitable for all levels.
